Knee pain: when is it time to see an orthopedist?

A little knee pain after a long day is normal. Pain that wakes you at night, swells after activity, or makes you avoid stairs is a signal worth listening to.

If rest, ice and simple painkillers have not helped within a few weeks, a clinical examination and an X-ray give you real answers — often earlier than you expect.

Seeing an orthopedist early does not mean surgery. It means an accurate diagnosis and a conservative-first plan, so small problems do not become big ones.
